Saving Money With Programmable Thermostats

As the summer months begin to approach, there are ways in which you can save money while keeping comfortable temperatures inside your Broward home. One of them is using programmable thermostats.

Energy Star, a joint program of the US Government helping individuals with tips on saving energy and money, explains the benefits of owning a programmable thermostat. The program states that these units offer “four pre-programmed settings to regulate your home’s temperature in both summer and winter – when you are home, asleep, or away.”  These settings were created to provide you with the most savings without sacrificing comfort.

Considering how nearly half of energy bills go to heating and cooling, EnergyStar states, homeowners can save about $180 a year by properly setting their programmable thermostats and maintaining those settings.
