Living in South Florida, many people endure the hot summer months with the help of a quality air conditioning systems. These ac units keep the home at comfortable temperatures. It wasn’t always so. Before air conditioners were invented, many people had to rely on other methods to keep cool.

According to an article written by the Wallstreet Journal, homes were built with higher ceilings, this is because heat tends to rise. This reduced the temperature of the room.  The homes also had porches, in which people would socialize with neighbors, as they kept cool.

Although Willis Carrier invented the first air conditioner in 1902, it did not reach homes until the 1950’s. This equipment has changed the way we live our lives. It brings comfort to the home allowing you to choose the temperature inside your home, regardless of how hot or cold it is outside.
