Dirty Air Conditioner Filters and AC Performance

Posted on AC Info July 17, 2012 by John Brescia

During the summer when temperatures are at record highs, it is important to make sure your air conditioning system is being maintained. One of the most important things to do is to change your AC filter. Not doing so can affect the way it performs and may cause a malfunction, as well as increase your electricity bill.

As Consumer Reports explains “Dirty filters hamper the efficiency of your air conditioner and dehumidifier. And if they’re working harder, it’s costing you money without making your home more comfortable. If you have central air conditioning, have your contractor show you how to change the filters.”
