Before you call for service: 1. Verify that the thermostat is set at "Heat" or "Cool", not "Off". Make sure the temperature is set lower than the actual room temperature when in cooling mode and above room temperature when in heating mode. 2. If you have a humidistat, set it to the "On" position.

3. Check all electrical disconnects and circuit breakers.
4. Check your air filter. Filters should be replaced or cleaned every month. A dirty filter causes most minor air conditioning problems. Never operate your system without a filter. 5. Electric heaters cause a slight burning smell when first turned on, especially when they have not been used for a while. This smell is caused by accumulated dust particles burning on the elements. This smell should not last more than 30 minutes. 6. Electric heaters cannot heat your home instantly. When a cold front is forecasted, please set your thermostat to HEAT as soon as possible. |
